Sermon Illustrations: Foundations

The Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur are (as at October 2002) the tallest buildings in the world, standing at 452 metres. Each tower weighs 300,000 tons. The foundation consisted of a 4.5 metre thick raft foundation containing 13,200 cubic metres of reinforced concrete, weighing approximately 32,550 tonnes under each tower. The bigger the building, the stronger the foundation needs to be.

When they put up a skyscraper, they put a lot of work into the foundation before they start worrying about the walls. They'll want to make sure it will keep standing. Obedience to God is the best foundation to lay when building our lives.
