Sermon Illustrations: Suffering

We can suffer God's way or our way. For instance, a young woman becomes a Christian and an unsaved man shows an interest. If she chooses do suffer God's way, it will hurt for a while. If she decides to marry him, then she suffers anyway in her marriage. (Illustration used by Derek Prince.)

An enterprising man in Chicago, US started peddling cheese. His business failed, he was deep in debt. A Christian friend challenged him by saying, "You don't take God into your business." This altered his whole perspective. He thought if God wants to run the business He can have it. I'll work for Him. He made God his senior partner. It prospered beyond his wildest imagination. He is J.L. Kraft of Kraft Cheeses, the largest cheese company in the world.
